‘Hot spots for hundreds and thousands of bacteria are found on printer buttons which are touched by many different people every day’
Source: ABC News 2006

Hard surfaces such as buttons on fax machines and printers contain thousands of bacteria. They are touched by many different people each day but are not regularly cleaned.

All hard surfaces such as monitor and printer housings and desktops should be cleaned regularly to ensure a clean working environment. It is recommended that you clean these hard surfaces at least once a week.

Use general purpose cleaning wipes or foam with a dry, low lint cloth for cleaning.
Try to use wipes that have antimicrobial properties to help protect against the risk of infection from bacteria

Don’t spray and fluid or foam onto hard surfaces if near or connected to any power supply which is switched on.
